Saturday Morning Gather #13

gath•er: to come together or bring together into one group, collection or place

If you are new here, welcome and thanks for joining me!!

And if you’ve been around a while, as always, I am so grateful to you!!

Gather round and grab your coffee or favorite morning drink of choice and let’s take a look at what’s been happening this week.

I was out of town last week for 5 days celebrating my granddaughter’s 2nd birthday with family and friends.

It was a wonderful time away, but I always have a hard time catching up when I get back home after I’ve been away for that long.

Anyway, the birthday party turned out so cute! It was an ice cream party theme, and my daughter did a great job planning it, and I was able to go a few days early and help decorate and prepare some of the food.

Did you see this charcuterie/snack board that I made to resemble and ice cream cone?

On the blog this week, I shared one of my favorite cookie recipes. Heart shaped shortbread sandwich cookies with raspberry filling.

These cookies are also referred to as Linzer Cookies and you can read all about them and get the recipe here.

They are fun to make for Valentine’s Day which is right around the corner, but can also be adapted for other holidays or events by using a different cookie cutter shape.

I have more Valentine ideas coming your way in the next couple of weeks, so be sure and check back.

In case you didn’t know, it’s National Hat Day. I thought in honor of the occasion I would share a few of my favorite hats.

Althought the colors look different in the different photos, this is actually the same hat. It is one of my faves and is the Billie hat from Gigi Pip. The first 2 photos I have a Gucci headband as a hatband (knock off), the middle two are with the narrow leather band that matches the hat and the last photo is a hat band I made with a thrifted leather belt and a piece of vintage rhinestone jewelry.

You can find that hat here. It comes in 3 colors, and mine is the ivory.

This is my favorite straw hat. It is also a Gigi Pip and unfortunately is discontinued. This hat and this hat, are very similar and are the replacements, and I love them too.

These are 2 more of my favorite hats. The one on the left I have had for several years and wear it often. You can find that hat here.

The one on the right I bought recently from July Hat Co. It is owned by a local friend, who has some amazing hats. If you’re not familiar with her, you should definitely check it out. She has some beautiful custom hats and hatbands. Not sure if she has this one in stock right now, but I found one here.

I hope to get the black one soon too!

Even my granddaughter likes to wear my hats!!

And of course, I like to decorate with them too!

I’ve been trying all week to start cleaning and organizing my office and still haven’t gotten to start because I was so behind from traveling last week.

But just to give you an idea of what I’m up against, here is a current picture. And NO, I’m not kidding!!!!!

Somewhere under all of this mess, is an amazing farmhouse table that will be my desk. There is also a beautiful vintage Turkish rug in there somewhere!!

Somehow this is going down next week! Send prayers and lots of coffee.

Oh, and if you happen to be free, I could use some help!!
